DQSI Completes USACE Hurricane Levee Rehabilitation Project

In October of 2010, DQSI was awarded a 1.5 million dollar contract with the Army Corps of Engineers for the rehabilitation of 4800 linear feet of hurricane protection levee in Cutoff, LA.  The contract consisted of driving the nearly one mile of 11’ vinyl sheet piles into the toe of the levee on the unprotected side and placing a total of 4614 tons of 200# graded stone over the vinyl sheet piles.  The purpose of this contract was to stop the erosion that was taking place due to wave action in heavy storms and constant boat traffic in the adjacent marsh.  This contract was completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the Army Corps of Engineers.
