Covington, LA– DQSI, LLC announced today that it was selected as an inaugural member of the LSU 100 (http://www.lsu100.com/).  The first annual LSU 100 program had to select from hundreds of companies nominated for the program.  “As one of the top 100, DQSI is in good company!” said Jarett Rodriguez, LSU100 Associate Director.  The 100 honorees include companies from several states as well as locations outside the United States. The former students representing these companies hold degrees from nearly every college within the University.  It is an impressive list.  

LSU PhD computer scientist Dr. Shelly Stubbs started DQSI in 1998.  In addition to serving as CEO, she is an active principal investigator for a 2011 NASA research project involving cloud computing.  Dr. Stubbs stated, “It’s an honor to be recognized by my alma mater.  Our company has benefited greatly over the years from LSU grads.”  DQSI also collaborates with the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI) which is administered by LSU as well as other partners including University of New Orleans, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

DQSI Successfully Installs Fuel Tank in Support of USACE Storm Proofing

On April 29,2011 DQSI successfully installs a large fuel tank for backup generators as part of a USACE contract for storm proofing of the Elmwood Pump Station located in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. This is a major milestone in DQSI’s ongoing support of USACE Hurricane Protection and Recovery Initiatives. This heavy construction project is part of a large scale upgrade of Elmwood/Cousins Pump Stations.

As Part of the DOTD “Safe Routes to Schools” Project, DQSI Installs Sidewalks and Subsurface Drainage in Livingston Parish

DQSI completes the installation of 300 linear feet of subsurface drainage with catch basins and over 800 square yards of concrete walkways in Walker, Louisiana. This project is part of a DOTD contract to provide safe routes to schools in Livingston Parish.

On 3/1/11 DQSI, LLC announced the purchase of 51% of Terra Logistics, LLC. This finalized agreement marks the ongoing expansion of DQSI’s success in the field of heavy construction and a leader in the Gulf Coast Region. Terra Logistics, LLC was founded in 2009 by President & CEO Daniel Martin, as a Heavy Construction Contractor. The Terra Logistics Management Team has over 50 years of combined experience in multiple fields of the construction industry.

Dr. Shelly Stubbs, President  & CEO of DQSI stated, “This acquisition is an important step in the commercialization of heavy construction services by expanding our capabilities and improving our ability to meet our growing customer needs.”

DQSI Completes USACE Hurricane Levee Rehabilitation Project

In October of 2010, DQSI was awarded a 1.5 million dollar contract with the Army Corps of Engineers for the rehabilitation of 4800 linear feet of hurricane protection levee in Cutoff, LA.  The contract consisted of driving the nearly one mile of 11’ vinyl sheet piles into the toe of the levee on the unprotected side and placing a total of 4614 tons of 200# graded stone over the vinyl sheet piles.  The purpose of this contract was to stop the erosion that was taking place due to wave action in heavy storms and constant boat traffic in the adjacent marsh.  This contract was completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the Army Corps of Engineers.

DQSI Construction Project Featured in Livingston Parish News

A $200,000 grant from the Department of Transportation and Development Safe Routes to School program is paying for new sidewalks on Burgess Avenue between the Police Station and Walker High and Westside Jr. High. After these sidewalks are complete, on both sides of Burgess Avenue, another $200,000 DOTD grant will pay for sidewalks between the Police Station and Walker Elementary and Walker Freshman High. The contractor for Phase One is DQSI from Covington.

DQSI Wins Leland Bowman and Calcasieu Locks Elevated Generator Platforms, Vermilion and Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana

On September 29, 2009 USACE awarded DQSI with a contract to provide the installation of elevated generator platforms at the Leland Bowman and Calcasieu Locks in Vermilion and Calcasieu Parishes, Louisiana.  Work consisted of furnishing all plant, equipment, labor and materials and performing all operations in connection with the manufacture and delivery of precast concrete pile caps and slabs, including assembly and installation parts.
