And have selected DQSI for the second place contestant in the people’s choice awards for Saint Paul’s High School (Covington, LA), Second Annual Crawfish Cook-Off. This event, hosted by the St. Paul’s School Alumni Association took place on March 19th 2011 to benefit Hope House,  an organization whose mission is to provide justice, hope and healing to abused children. In 2010 DQSI participated in the crawfish cook-off with benfits going to support Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

DQSI Construction Project Featured in Livingston Parish News

A $200,000 grant from the Department of Transportation and Development Safe Routes to School program is paying for new sidewalks on Burgess Avenue between the Police Station and Walker High and Westside Jr. High. After these sidewalks are complete, on both sides of Burgess Avenue, another $200,000 DOTD grant will pay for sidewalks between the Police Station and Walker Elementary and Walker Freshman High. The contractor for Phase One is DQSI from Covington.

Environmental Phase I Site Assessments awarded to DQSI by Evans-Graves Engineers for the Baton Rouge Area

DQSI completed Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) for Evans-Graves Engineers; both sites were located within the Siegen Lane Market Place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The Phase I ESAs were conducted to search for evidence of recognized environmental conditions in connection with the subject property and, specifically, to meet one of the requirements to qualify for the innocent landowner defense to CERCLA liability. The Phase I ESAs were performed in general accordance with ASTM Standard E 1527-05, Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments:  Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process. And meets the All Appropriate Inquiries rule (AAI)

Observations were made concerning the following:

  • General site setting, current and past uses
  • Geologic, hydrogeologic, hydrologic, and topographic conditions
  • Improvements including structures, roads, and utilities
  • Hazardous substances and petroleum products
  • Storage tanks, vents, fill pipes, access ways
  • PCB containing equipment
  • Strong, pungent, or noxious odors
  • Drums or containers of hazardous substances, petroleum products, or unidentified materials
  • Stains, corrosion, and stressed vegetation
  • Drains, sumps, pits, ponds, and lagoons associated with waste disposal
  • Solid waste, waste water, wells, and septic systems


A technical report of our findings was prepared along with maps and pertinent historical information concerning the site.

Evans- Graves Engineers, Incorporated selected DQSI to provide wetland assessments for sites in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Environmental Specialist Robert Boudet assessed wetland extents for Metro Airport Sewer Area Pump stations and Forcemain Upgrades in East Baton Rouge Parish. 

Comprehensive wetland determination maps and environmental technical reports were created by DQSI.

On March 10, 2010 USACE awarded DQSI with a task order for Atchafalaya Basin Floodway, Bayou Sorrel Lock, Northwest guidewall replacement and new dolphins in Iberville Parish, Louisiana.

On October 15, 2009 USACE New Orleans District awarded DQSI with a task order to perform construction of Cross Bayou Access Bridge and Pile Load Test in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.

USACE Awards DQSI Buffalo Cove Construction Contract

On October 6, 2009 USACE New Orleans District awarded DQSI with a construction contract for Atchafalaya Basin Floodway System, Buffalo Cove, Water Management Unit, Element 9-2, in Iberia Parish, Louisiana.

DQSI Wins Leland Bowman and Calcasieu Locks Elevated Generator Platforms, Vermilion and Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana

On September 29, 2009 USACE awarded DQSI with a contract to provide the installation of elevated generator platforms at the Leland Bowman and Calcasieu Locks in Vermilion and Calcasieu Parishes, Louisiana.  Work consisted of furnishing all plant, equipment, labor and materials and performing all operations in connection with the manufacture and delivery of precast concrete pile caps and slabs, including assembly and installation parts.

DQSI wins USACE Construction Contract for Mermentau River Basin: Schooner Bayou Control Structure Electrical Rewiring and Generator Installation, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana

On September 2, 2009 USACE New Orleans District awarded DQSI with a project to provide electrical rewiring and generator installation at the Schooner Bayou Control Structure in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana.
